Bhetwal made his directorial debut with thriller drama Jung Bahadur CO Coat (2015) which earned him the status of a commercial film director. His next film Hero Returns (2017) is in the verge of release where he has successfully directed Superstar Rekha Thapa. He is the youngest director of Nepal to have directed much acclaimed superstars including Rekha Thapa and Saroj Khanal. Early and personal life Ashish Bhetwal was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. He studied at the Bagmati Boarding School and attended Bridgewater International College both in Kathmandu. He is doing Undergraduate Degree in Melbourne, Australia. Ashish started his career in entertainment industry as a music video Director, he directed Mandip Upreti's song "Samjhirahechhu Timilai". As a child, he was influenced by commercial Nepali cinema: He cites Rajesh Hamal, Tulsi Ghimire, Dilip Rayamajhi and Late Shree Krishna Shrestha as inspiration. Ashish is a desired bachelor at this stage and is not looking forward to any kind of relationship and wishes to focus his mind towards establishing his career. Career Many directors are seen assisting senior directors before actually directing a movie. However, this talented director was approached by Yogendra Khadka (Producer, Jung Bahadur CO Coat) with a storyline on his hand. It had only been six months after he arrived in Australia and he did not say no this project because of the thrilling storyline. He took around 3 months to write the script and then collaborated with Kali Prasad Baskota (Music Director) for the songs of his movies. He roped in Bimles Adhikari (Actor) and Suchitra Acharya (Actress) in the project. They were brought in to Australia. The film went on floor and in a few days Ashish figured out that the resources he was provided was not sufficient for that script to be shot in Australia. He changed the script calling shooting off for two days and scheduled in a way that it had to be shot less in Australia and more in Nepal. The film was appreciated by critics and audience for its screenplay and unique story-telling pattern. However, the film suffered a heavy loss in box-office due to lack of publicity and long-scheduled and called-off release. The director was then offered "Hero Returns (2017) by Sabin Shrestha (Actor, Producer), which he immediately accepted because it had Rekha Thapa starring in it. Ashish was a huge fan of Rekha and always wanted to work together at some stage. He never knew it would be this early. This action drama is slated to release at some point of 2017 and is expected to be a big one by trade-pundits.
