John Robilette has been a international concert pianist who also turned to acting in 2014. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Wisconsin, he began his career as a classical concert pianist having played in 25 countries around the world. But acting beckoned, too, with occasional work in stage plays. After moving to Palm Springs, he studied acting seriously there and in Los Angeles, and in a short time began auditioning. During only 3 years as an actor he had the lead in a number of films including Ivan Ayr's "Quest for the Right Outcome", winner of Best Picture - SciFi in the San Jose International Short Film Festival 2015; officially selected at the Boston Sci-Fi Festival 2015 and the Maryland International Short Film Festival 2015; also: "Nuts!", a production of Angeles Woo, with the famous producer, John Woo, as Executive Producer.; "Out the Window" a production of NYFA; a movie mogul in the Director's Reel entitled" Shadows On the Screen;" and the lead in two Industrials for the Caterpillar Corporation. Also a supporting role as the hostage in the short film..."The Hostage;" an industrial funded by the Israelis about the vulnerability of our US power grid ("Black Sky Project"), playing the Secretary of Energy; and a day player as the hotel manager in the feature film, "The Arrangement," by Julie Labagnara, and "the professor" in the feature film, "As Good As it Gets,", which is in post-production. John Robilette recently wrote, produced and directed a SAG New Media short film entitled, "My Piano Lesson," which is post-production. Mr. Robilette believes that acting and concertizing as a pianist have remarkable similarities. In one case the instrument of expression and projection is the piano and in the other it is your body. Also phrasing in music and the "beats" in a text are almost interchangeable in understanding breathing, emphasis and color. Written By: John Robilette
