Rim Taya Shawki

Rim Taya Shawki, mainly known as Taya Shawki, is a professional dancer born in Gothenburg, Sweden. Taya is mostly known for her work with singer Ariana Grande and her performance on The Sweetener World Tour in 2019 and forward.. Her dance career of 10+ years also includes work with artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Pharrell etc. Taya Shawki started dancing as early as 3 years old in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she's from and has not stopped since. She attended the Royal Swedish Ballet School and trained under some of the greatest urban style teachers in Scandinavia. Taya has since a very young age been very determined about her future as a dancer, which has brought her to Los Angeles today. After successfully touring all over Europe, working in Sweden, London and Amsterdam for about 7 years, Taya has experienced the role of a dancer, choreographer and creative director on some of the biggest productions around Europe, all by the age of 24, she decided to move to Los Angeles to continue her career in the dance industry. Taya is the daughter of Iraqi parents and the granddaughter of well known Iraqi veteran actor Khalil Shawki.
