Tyler Johnson

Tyler Johnson has been an all-around adventurer since the day he was born. Born in Soldotna, Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula to Dave and Judy, Tyler has spent a lifetime of traveling across remote stretches of Alaskan wilderness. Among many activities, Tyler's notable contributions includes starring in a National Geographic's Ultimate Survival Alaska, setting the record for the fastest finish time in the Alaska Mountain Wilderness Classic race, climbing and skiing death defying routes from the summits of the highest peaks on planet Earth. Tyler's carefree yet hardcore attitude brings an air of joy and excitement to any adventure. Tyler strives in the competitive world. He is well - known for unconventional trips, gear and "MacGyver" type skills that contribute to his success. More recently, after working out at the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge Heli Ski lodge, Tyler and the Lodge Manager, Bret Gilleland, decided to paddle in a two person inflatable kayak from the front door of the lodge to downtown Anchorage instead of just taking a plane ride like everyone else. Their 180 mile trip included five rivers, class IV whitewater, and one ocean crossing. When Tyler is not pushing the limits on Television or on mountains around the globe, he is a co-owner of three Alaska-based businesses, a licensed professional engineer and holds two advanced engineering degrees. If you want to run into Tyler, you can try and catch him in the annual Mt. Marathon Race in Seward, perhaps see his skin tracks deep in the Alaska Range or at his log home in Kasilof, Alaska.
