Born Shawnee Daniel Kidder on May 24, 1971, Dan Kidder is an American born actor, author, Marine, firearms instructor, television host, and magazine editor. Born in the San Diego suburb of La Mesa, he spent his childhood living with his grandparents while his mother battled addiction. He later spent time in Group homes and then foster homes, before graduating high school in Pine Bush, NY. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1989-1992. Prior to attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, he was a member of a community theater group in Middletown, NY, performing title roles as King Lear, Julius Ceasar, and Hamlet. He has also performed in college in a variety of one act plays. Kidder served as press secretary to Georgia Congressman Michael Allen Collins, and later as communications director for the Congressman. He has been Communications Manager for the National Association of Home Builders, Communications Director for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Communications Director for the National Air Transportation Association, Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Business Promotion for Uptown Columbus, Inc, and Vice President of Public Relations and Communications for The Center For Education Reform. He was a staff writer for the Times Herald-Record Newspaper, Dow Jones, and served as editor of the Greater Lynchburg Guide, publisher of Multifamily Management Magazine and The Greater Manassas Guide, and is Editor in Chief of Sportsman's News Magazine and a host of Sportsman's News Televison. He lives in Cedar City, UT and is divorced.
