1949, born in San Rafael del Moján, Zulia state. Betulio Medina Paz, the youngest of twelve brothers. As a child, he joined as a maraquero of the Alma Zuliana group, founded by his father and his brother Moisés. Apart from the maracas, he also plays the harp, the guitar, and the bass guitar. In Santa Rosa de Agua, a palatial town in the northern area of Maracaibo, lives its first years of childhood and adolescence. There are groups of Gaita to participate in cultural activities organized by educational institutions. At the age of 13, he gives life to his first personal project and founds the group Los Inolvidables. Later, along with her older brothers, she participates in the Venezulia group, where she works as a drummer. He had a musical experience that marked him for life together with his brothers with the polyphonic group Alma Zulia, traveling throughout Venezuela and some countries of the continent. In 1968 he joined the Los Cardinales del Éxito, where he made himself known with the musical La Portentosa, and then in Caracas, in 1972, together with Alí Carroz, he organized the group Oro Negro. Very active in the Venezuelan capital and recognized as a tenor, so he studied lyrical singing in the LINO GALLARDO MUSICAL SCHOOL in the decade of the 70's, had the opportunity to be invited to participate in some operas and zarzuelas that were staged in the Theater National. It is separated from Oro Negro, as the 70s saw the birth of the Maracaibo Gaitas group in Caracas15 by the hand of a son of San Rafael de Mara (El Mojan), in the middle of Sinamaica in Zulia state, Betulio Medina; who conforms with 15 musicians and singers a longing, to have their own group that will play in rhythm of bagpipe zuliana to all the country and thus, enriching the original instrumentation adds the mandolin, electric bass and vocal arrangements; he debuted singing to the region of Guayana, CANAIMA that gave way to rhythm of Tamunangue Larense to LA NEGRA DEL TAMUNAGUE and so, year after year the traditional bagpipe, the oriental song, the tamboreras, parrandas, the llanero song along with the harp dress of gala the gaitera instrumentation until arriving at the bonus that possessed Maracaibo15 together with his leader voice producer and general manager Betulio Medina as the honor guest of Christmas in Venezuela. Among his successes are: Amparito, La Moza, La Negra del Tamunangue, Muñeca, La Ti ingrata, Viejo año, Venga un Abrazo, El cañonazo, Parranda 87, Un Feliz Año, Amigo, Upa, Besos y Abrazos, Navidad Sin Ti, and others. Between its overcoming, it has been awarded by numerous acknowledgments and awards in the standards of the Venezuelan television and musical means of the country, also recognized under municipal orders and government officials native region being involved of the Zuliana tradition and recognizing it for years of work in the industry. Forty-four seasons touring each state of the country, transcending borders to be Present in the homes of so many Venezuelans residing in several countries such as United States; in Miami City and some counties of Orlando state, Canada in Toronto, Panama in Panama City, Spain in Tenerife island.
