Pere Gratacós is a youth team coach at FC Barcelona. He was born in Besalú, Catalonia and joined FC Barcelona's youth system in 1974, aged 16. He captained Barcelona's reserves and played for Spanish teams Osasuna, Real Valladolid and Figueres. He worked as a manager, before becoming a part of the Barcelona coaching setup. He was the coach of Barcelona's B Team between 2003 and 2005, where he trained Lionel Messi and he was the person who recommended Messi to first-team manager Frank Rijkaard. It led to Messi's first senior team debut.
