Alyssa Kompelien

Alyssa Kompelien is an American actress. She was born in San Jose, California as Alyssa Michelle Brown on January 17, 1991 to Mark and Delores (née Clubb) Brown. In 2012, Alyssa married her husband Gregory Kompelien and changed her name. Alyssa studied the Meisner Technique at Bay Area Acting Studio for over 2 years starting in 2016. Before that, Alyssa studied at SJSU and received her B.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Performance Studies in 2013. Her training in Performance Studies incorporated improvisation and scripted acting to tell stories. This form of storytelling still influences Alyssa's acting and writing today. Alyssa's minor was in Child Development and she taught Preschool for 8 years before taking on acting full time. In 2014, Alyssa started her film acting career and has appeared in various independent short and feature films in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2016, Alyssa started modeling as a way to continue creating and telling stories in between acting jobs. She has had the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers and has even had the privilege of seeing some of her work published. In 2017, Alyssa added stylist to her resume and now works as a freelance commercial wardrobe and set stylist in addition to acting and modeling. 2018 brought about opportunities for Alyssa to write, produce, and act in her own films. Her film "Safety Work" directed by Cheryl Isaacson is starting a festival run in 2020. Alyssa is very excited to share this personal story.
