Richard Stringham was born in Arkansas and raised on a bad diet of R-rated films during the heyday of the video store craze. In 2016, he left his job as a mechanical contractor to write, produce, and direct his first feature, "Close Calls," which gained a cult following after winning awards at the New York City Horror Film Festival and being mentioned on the Blumhouse Shock Waves podcast. While putting together a documentary on the making of "Close Calls," Stringham helped produce a number of indie films, including "10/31", "Space Babes From Outer Space", and "The Bad Man." He also went on to write several spec scripts, which have garnered over thirty accolades in competitions such as Script Summit, Screenplay Festival, Austin Film Fest, and the Creative World Awards.
