Born in 1983 Ramon J. Montoya, is an American Filmmaker from Dallas, Texas. Upon returning from deployment in 2004 from the city of Al Fallujah, Iraq. Montoya, earned a degree in Film & Audio Technology by utilizing the benefits he earned in the Marine Corps. Being of Mexican heritage Montoya, wanted to make his father an immigrant who migrated to the U.S. , proud of him.. As a child Montoya, was told by his family he, resembled actor Loud Diamond Phillips, in his role " La Bamba" a 1987 feature film. Montoya grew an affinity to oldie, soul music, and singing from his parents. His mother often wrote poems; while his father sang "Corridos" and Mariachi songs around the house. He remembers his father recording his voice while mimicking a "disc jockey" into a cassette recorder. It was then that Montoya fell in love with film, performing, and singing. At 24 years old Montoya, founded Empire Video, an experimental, promotional company using his last name to identify himself. He assembled a production crew which brought popularity to a social club in his home town. Promoting these venues taught Ramon, about organizing a team, building an image, and learning to sell yourself as a serious business. Montoya learned to work professionally among celebrities while filming interviews at several concert venues for Grammy Award Winning Producers Play & Skillz along with Pit Bull among others in 2007 for Pardi Gras 2007 while working with a Graphics Company. In 2014 Ramon won the 3rd Place Award at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Convention for "Out of Touch" a Documentary on homeless lives. When he is not filming Ramon, enjoys dedicating his time with his three daughters and Wife in a suburb of Texas.
