Matt Hagerty

Matthew Thomas Hagerty was born in Richmond, VA to Thomas A. Hagerty, a plastic surgeon, and Lisa Gregoire Hagerty, a nurse. He has two younger brothers (Ryan and Joseph) and a twin sister (Marisa). He grew up in Rhinebeck, NY, and graduated from John A. Coleman Catholic High School, where he was salutatorian, class president and a National Merit scholar. As a high school junior, Hagerty started a nonprofit musical theater company, NextQuest Productions, dedicated to increasing accessibility for underprivileged patrons in the Hudson Valley, NY. He then went on to graduate Cornell University in two years with a degree in Applied Economics and Management. Hagerty made his film debut writing, producing, directing and starring in the 2017 Amazon comedy short "Anatomy of a Breakup", which he completed during his time as a Cornell undergraduate.
