Karen Withem

Karen Withem is a writer, director and producer who draws upon her eclectic background in business and the arts with each new project. In 2015 she launched Canyon Diamond Media, LLC, a production company that tells compelling and entertaining stories whose themes reflect scriptures of the world's faiths. She directed her first narrative independent short film, "A Rude Awakening," completed in July 2015. She has written, produced and directed numerous industrial videos, including marketing shorts and training videos. In her native Los Angeles, she sold an original feature length screenplay, wrote and directed plays and produced and directed a public affairs series on faith and social issues. Since relocating from Los Angeles to Raleigh, North Carolina, she has served in various capacities in regional productions, including camera operator for the web series "The Setlist." She co-founded Raleigh Women in Media in 2013, a group dedicated to nurturing talent in the film and video arts. Ms. Withem began her career as a photojournalist; she holds a degree in economics from UCLA.
