Kay Nguyen (Nguyen Le Phuong Khanh) is a writer, producer and director for feature films in Vietnam. She was born on January 9th, 1984 in Saigon, finished her film study in the States, and has worked in various positions in film production in the States, Japan and Vietnam. In 2013, she co-founded with Dr. Tilo Owsley a writing group called "A Type Machine", which supplies script services in Saigon. Her works represent Vietnam at the Oscars three times in a row ("The Tailor", "Furie", "Dream Eyes"). She also won many domestic and international prizes. "Mat Biec" (Dreamy Eyes), which she wrote and produced in 2019, has become the second highest all-time box office record in Vietnam since release.
