Nicole Collette

The filmmaking industry has been of interest to Nicole ever since she was a young child. Before she even know what screenwriting was, she would write stories in a notebook and then act them out with her brother in their room as kids. Around Jr. high school her passion for film really started to develop after having to watch The Outsiders in class. She claims she fell in love with the book and when she saw the film she was majorly disappointed. There were major pieces missing and all she could think about was how she could tell it better. This stuck with her and by the time she was in high school she knew she was destined to be a filmmaker. In her hopes to pursue her dreams she took the only film class that her school provided which led her to direct her first scene with some classmates. It turned out terrible but she didn't let that stop her. In the summer of 2008 while most teenagers were hanging out with their friends, Nicole was inside sitting in front of the computer teaching herself screenwriting through trial and error on her first feature film. Although nothing came from that film it was a great learning experience for her and once she graduated high school she knew she was going to film school. In 2011 she enrolled in Full Sail University where she started her degree in filmmaking however half way through the program she had to drop out due to financial situations. She was devastated but she never lost hope. After working for a solid year, Nicole re-enrolled at Full Sail this time focusing her degree in Digital Cinematography. At the end of 2014 she graduated but took no time to rest. After Christmas she packed up her stuff, said goodbye to her family and headed west towards California to pursue her Masters Degree in filmmaking at New York Film Academy. Nicole loves to write, produce, and direct using experiences that she has gone through in real life to create material that is raw, real, and relatable. Over the years she has developed her own unique style and she continues to pursue her dreams of owning her own production company and making films she hopes will help change the world.
