Lindsay Thompson

Lindsay Thompson was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to Mary and Ronnie Thompson, an engineer. Thompson spent her early years performing in a handful of stage productions along with studying martial arts and stage combat. She also spent nearly two decades performing as a musician at various venues throughout the country, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. She practiced improv while attending East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, along with studying and receiving a degree in graphic design. After graduating, Thompson worked as a graphic designer, interactive designer, photographer and continued to hone her filmmaking skills. She also began competing in the sport of canine disc with her dogs in early 2009. Beginning in 2011, Thompson began research and development of her first feature-length documentary highlighting the sport of canine disc and its historical origins and significance. Principal photography for Fly High: Story of the Disc Dog (2016) began in August of 2014 after nearly two years of fund raising and initial publicity. In 2015, Thompson took the helm of her first film as director and cinematographer for the short Real State (2015), a film produced as part of the 48 Hour Film Project. Since that time, she has directed Scoping Mechanism (2016) and operated as a sound technician on the award-winning short film, There Goes Eric (2016).
