Julya Antoinette

Julya Antoinette was born in South Florida, the youngest of five children. Growing up, she recalls how her mother watched black and white films a great majority of the time and this had a big impact on her as well as her two sisters, particularly the Shirley Temple films. Julya and her sisters would put on little plays and skits often emulating films they had seen, and sometimes reenacting full scenes from Shirley Temple films. The three sisters dreamed, each of them, of growing up and acting on film themselves one day. Well life had different plans for her two sisters, who both went on to have beautiful families, meanwhile Julya began the journey to accomplishing the dreams the three of them once shared. Julya entered the Dance program at Florida International University. Despite having very little dance training prior to enrolling, she was successful at earning a Bachelors of Art in Dance and was a part of the very last class to graduate from the program before it was cut! Julya also entered the films studies certificate program, which was the only film program offered at the university. After college Julya grew more interested in modeling and fashion. She was hired as a store model for Abercrombie and Fitch and went on to become a manager in training. After working in Miami for a short time Julya's further interest in modeling lead her to a big decision, in 2014 Julya took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles. She began work again at Abercrombie and Fitch when her interest in modeling took her into commercials as well. Julya started working as an extra for commercials, TV, and film, so much so that she quit her job to free her schedule for more work in the field. Soon, Julya signed with commercial and print agency DDO, and to her surprise after not many auditions she booked her first principal role in a commercial for YouTube TV. The spot played often on TV and social media platforms and Julya received many congrats from friends and family that spotted her; she was hard to miss as the commercial began with her face in an extreme close up. It may have seemed a small step to some but Julya's first commercial booking offered her so much hope for the future. Julya continues to audition on a daily basis and has been booked on several commercials, print ads, music videos, and other media outlets since then. During her in between time Julya collaborates with photographers, videographers, and stylists, and enjoys bringing these elements together to create original content for social media. Julya is pushing to break into more TV and film roles as well. She has been cast as the lead on several short films but she does not intend to stop there. With her experience thus far more major TV and film roles are anticipated on Julya's steady growing career path. Overall, Julya demonstrates versatility as an entertainer, creative, and influencer, she works to exhaust the many avenues of expression with which she has been gifted ever since her childhood of watching classic black and whites.
