City of birth : Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

From his Disney days as the lead of the hit TV show Alex&Co, to his debut as a stage performer in the title role of the musical Aladdin, to playing the engineer that helped Mr. Lamborghini create the iconic 350 GT in the feature film Lamborghini: The Legend, to playing a son who lost faith in his father in the HBOMax feature film A Christmas Mystery, Leonardo Cecchi is quickly making a name for himself across all genres as a rising star. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota from an Iowan mother and an Italian father, Leonardo was blessed with the cultural riches of both countries. From a very young age, Leonardo showed a strong passion for the performing arts, likely stemmed from his mother who made a name for herself in the 70s on the hit Tv show The Young and The Restless. He began acting, singing and dancing in youth theatre productions at the age of 6 years old. His father found him a unique performing arts high school in Turin, Italy, which Leonardo quickly fell in love with. Here, he continued training in stage acting, diction, jazz dance and singing for musical theatre. During his sophomore year, a casting director from Disney Italy went scouting at that high school and soon after, Leonardo was cast as the lead of the hit Disney tv show Alex&Co, his first onscreen role. He cherishes the memories from that experience and says: "It taught me so much about what it means to be a professional actor and definitely confirmed that acting is what I want to pursue for the rest of my life". While earning his high school diploma, Leonardo shot four seasons of Alex&Co, which aired in over 50 countries, and two movies with Disney, one of which got him a nomination for best original song in a feature film. During his senior year, Leonardo wrote his first book, an autobiographical novel titled Un Respiro Lungo e Via (One Deep Breath, and Let It Go). Given the success of his first novel, Leonardo was later asked to write a second novel which he titled Manuale di Soppravvivenza per i Reduci del Primo Amore (Recovery Manual for First Love Survivors), which he hopes to one day turn into a feature. Once graduated in 2017, Leonardo permanently moved to Los Angeles. Here he quickly found representation with The Savage Agency, he started training at The Chubbuck Acting Studio and began studying chemistry at Santa Monica College. He later got into UCLA with a 4.0 GPA but opted to complete his degree at a later date due to increasing work opportunities. In just 5 years as a professional actor, Leonardo has appeared in 6 feature films, 4 television series, one of which, Ryan Murphy's American Horror Stories, 3 theatrical productions and one original short movie which he wrote, directed, and acted in. In this short movie, Leonardo played 7 different characters all at once, an endeavor that showed impressive diversity in his acting abilities and a performance that earned him two nominations and one win for best actor at the LA-TopShorts film festival.
