Vladislav Khesin (Vladislav Petrov by birth) was born in Moscow, Russia in August 1994. Being interested in writing and having a great admiration for the classic and modern literature from a very early age helped him develop his own language and style and inspired him to write not only short stories, but also scripts. In 2014 he moved to Los Angeles where he got a bachelor degree in Filmmaking, diving deep into film history and falling in love with the works of such masters as Robert Bresson, Satyajit Ray, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ingmar Bergman, Vittorio De Sica and many others. Since then he started working on numerous projects, from short films to commercials and music videos, collaborating as a writer, director and producer. His filmmaking style does not rely on dialogue, telling stories mostly through the actor's performances and camera work. Creating projects that are less descriptive and more visual and character driven Vladislav strives to degrade language and cultural barriers and create work that is comprehensible throughout the world. His first short film Sleep screened in multiple countries including U.K., Austria, Netherlands, India, Sudan and others. In his latest short film "Flow" Vladislav raises the question whether a persons merging with the society's actions is worth the price.
