Tess Smolens

Theresa Azcuna Smolens, also known as Tess, was born on March 29, 2001, in Dubai, UAE. At age 1, Tess and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona USA. At age 4, she moved with her family to Singapore at which time she began to study Chinese Mandarin as a 2nd language, train in Ballet, Piano and Singing. In Secondary School (age 13) she began theatrical acting. The only student to score a perfect exam grade in the Foundation Drama Elective Program. With that, Tess knew her talent category's strength was acting. She then furthered her commitment to acting by articulating in the Drama Elective 'O' Level Program and the Drama Arts Society. In 2015, she auditioned for an international talent competition, Premiere Event. She was then invited to compete in front of LA's top industry professionals. Among over 150 participants, she won 1st Place in acting. Winning by a significantly large margin, she also won 2nd Place across the board with her acting showcases alone. 3 months later she moved to LA for about a year to develop her craft. At age 16, she was traveling to and from Singapore and LA. At age 17, she caught the attention of Singapore's local media stations and was scouted to become a fashion model. Later that year, in 2019 she won Singapore's most notable modeling and entertainment competition, The New Paper for New Face. This gave her the platform to work with Singapore's radio and entertainment projects months later. She now lives in Los Angeles and continues to work in both the LA and Southeast Asian markets.
