Ashutosh Agnihotri is a screenwriter, author and lyricist whose works often reflect philosophical, psychological and socio-political polyphonic aspects and mutual relativism of individuals and society. His early years belongs to a small town Sagar of central India in a highly religious middle class Brahman family that nurtured him with literature from the very beginning. As he grew up in an India that exponentially adopted cosmopolitanism during the decade of 90s, he soon flew away from the dominance of nationalism and cultural boundaries of native land and became an advocate of Internationalism. In his quest to explore his existential dilemmas he opted out expressive art to be his call, and led to Pune for deeper study and exploration of his artistic vision. After spending an year in Pune, learning from various masters of Cinema and literature, he approached to a career as a screenwriter and filmmaker and led to Mumbai to debut with a deeply psychological complex narrative film of a scholar who alters his personality from one extreme to the the other, and suffers the consequences not just personally but also as a cluster of social force. The movie was titled Nirankush and was released in the year 2013. Afterwards he had written for few Hindi magazines, while mostly spending his time in isolation as he plans to further come with novels and screenplays that will manifest the larger aspects of his idea of the relation between the individual and the society.
