E. Stanley Kroenke, named after baseball legends Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial, was born in Cole Camp, Mo., and grew up in Mora, Mo. Mr. Kroenke and his wife, Ann, have a daughter, Whitney, and a son, Josh, Governor and President of both the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche. Mr. Kroenke has undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Missouri. In February 2009, Mr. Kroenke was enshrined into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Joining him in the class was former Rams Pro Bowl defensive end Grant Wistrom. Stan Kroenke has been a critical leadership figure for the Rams since he first invested in the team in 1995 as co-owner of the storied franchise. In 2010, his bid was approved unanimously by National Football League owners to become the sole owner by 2014. In 1999, the Rams won Super Bowl XXXVI over the Tennessee Titans, 23-16. Between 1999-2001, the Rams scored the most points by any team over a three-year stretch. Also in that span, the offense coined as the Greatest Show on Turf produced three NFL MVPs and an NFC Championship title. Regarded as one of the world's leading sports owners, Kroenke's teams have won titles in the NFL, NHL, MLS, UEFA, and the National Lacrosse League. Kroenke's sports holdings include serving as the majority shareholder of Arsenal FC (Barclays English Premiere League), London's model football club. From 2000-2014, Kroenke owned the NBA's Denver Nuggets and the NHL's Colorado Avalanche which are now a part of a family trust. Kroenke's Denver-based company, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, owns the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer and the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. Kroenke also also owns Altitude Sports and Entertainment, which broadcasts Rams preseason games.
