Anisha Thomas

Anisha Thomas is an award-winning Australian screen music composer, music producer and pianist. She regularly composes for a variety of Australian and US Film/TV screen productions. With near to a decade of working in the entertainment industry, Anisha has 30 screen credits including numerous short films, documentaries, TV/web series, and feature films including 'A Bad Influence' yet to be released in 2021. In 2018 Anisha won the Best Original Score award at the Made in the West Festival for her film score for Academy Award Qualifying Film, Three Feet Deep, directed and written by Rachael Belle Myers. She is also regularly invited to be an adjudicator for various having most recently judging the APRA AMCOS and AGSC Screen Music Awards 2019. To further her advocacy for greater diversity and inclusivity in the entertainment industry, Anisha founded and also runs the sound and music production house Sound-how, leading a diverse team of composers and sound designers. Sound-how prides itself on providing world-class sound and music production services as well as being a social enterprise, through their outreach and contributions to underrepresented minority groups and communities. Through Sound-how she has worked with other social organizations such as Bus Stop Films and Diversity Arts Australia. Anisha is often invited to give talks and masterclasses regarding her work as a minority screen music composer, having also been featured as a guest lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Aside from her in Film and TV music, Anisha has worked with acclaimed Australian ensembles such as the Australian Art Orchestra, jazz legend Sandy Evans and tenor vocalist Mark Vincent. As a music producer, she has also worked with both Australian and US artists. Her music has also been featured at acclaimed venues such as the Sydney Opera house as well as part of various dance projects most notably at the Bangarra Dance Theatre.
