Michael Stanton was born in Boynton Beach, FL to Carl and Susan Stanton who later moved to Banner Elk, NC. From a young age, Michael grew up surrounded by the beauty of the blue ridge mountains which fed into his imagination and love of stories. He was home schooled through high school and later attended the closest public college, Appalachian State University. Unsatisfied with a degree in English with a concentration in film studies, Michael transferred to Ottawa, ON Canada to study at Augustine College in hopes of investigating his faith from an intellectual perspective. After finishing a one year certificate from Augustine College, he volunteered for a full year in Uganda as a tutor for a small group of boys who had fallen behind in their education due to unfortunate circumstances. While in Uganda, Africa, Michael began to consider a career in the film industry once more. He applied to the accelerated associates degree program at Compass College of Cinematic Arts (CCCA) in Grand Rapids, MI and graduated valedictorian the following year. The accelerated nature of the program at CCCA gave Michael the opportunity to act in several student films. While attending East Tennessee State University, Michael joined a film club and continued to act eventually landing the part of Jacob Daniels in "Erwin Horror Story: The Visitor" with director Dustin Street.
