Alexis is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in Georgia, her unique rich tone and art driven music colorfully fuse pop, soul, rhythm, and blues. She uses her voice as a canvas to paint her love, hope, desires and truth, creating music for all ages and a sound for all people. Alexis is an extraordinary story of a young Georgian girl born to a gospel singer and a writer. The gifts of art, travel and great adventure were bestowed on her life from birth, and the promise of extraordinary wonder. By the age of 16 she had held the Olympic torch, smiled for television commercials, scaled a volcano, swam with sharks, gave little kisses to a baby sea lions, traveled to Equador, won Miss Congeniality, studied Charles Darwin's theory of evolution on the Galapagos Islands, and written 3 award-winning pieces. It's said her passion for character art began with vocal intonation at age three when her cousin introduced her to a tape recorder. As an only child she found herself alone recording her own radio shows, traffic reports and song covers over her mother's favorite music tapes. With fascination she would explore different voices and sounds and one day while watching the Nickelodeon Classic show The Rugrats, she hatched the idea to record her own voice leaving blank spaces. While the sound played back, sit in front of her big brown vanity mirror, she would respond with an alternate character. See, Alexis was infatuated with stories that she lived, dreamed and told. Some stories brought tears to her eyes, and she would stop to weep for their sorrow, and some stories left her breathless with laughter. Her mother saw her passion and interesting gift for expression and introduced her to acting at Atlanta Workshop for Players. Age 16 was also a turning point in Alexis' life, when her mother was presented with a new job opportunity in Washington, DC. Packing her bags, and leaving the south, she headed for her next escapade. Longing for delight in her summer transition, she spent her days exploring our capital's many museums, monuments, gardens, and the zoo. Culture, history, and art had new meaning, and the study became just as wonderful as the performance. At her new high school, Richard Montgomery, she joined the theater department, Black Maskers, and Basketball team. Film was never too far, while tackling high school, she managed to land 3 lead roles in Alcohol Awarenesss (Industrial), People Can Change (Student Film), and a Student Motivational Commercial. Upon graduation day she had been inducted into the International Thesbian Society, and honored for Outstanding Achievement and Community Leadership by Rotary International. Alexis ventured to college at Marshall University in 2009, there she had fallen in love with " the tallest man she had ever laid eyes on," and would travel the world with him following her heart and helping him chase his athletic dreams for the next 5 years of her life. Indulging in foreign culture and cultivating a love for photography, and capturing the beautiful contrasts of the world. Their journey led them to live in 7 different states and 3 other countries. During her travels, she never lost her passion for artistry and worked her way onto 5 different international fashion week runways across the United States (Sacramento, Lodi, Charlotte, Atlanta, Atlanta Urban). Alexis went on with her knowledge to live in China where she had the opportunity to travel to many provinces before coming back to America and finding an ended to her lovers journey in Miami, Florida. Though sorrowful, her greatest lesson from love was truly to follow your heart, fore it not only lead her all over the world, but to artistic and cultural experiences she could never replace. Most of all she got to do them with the one she loved. What a gift. Within her nomadic primary years of adulthood it was within her return to her home state of Georgia where she found acting again. Working two jobs, with two very supportive bosses, she spent the majority of her off hours on movie and television sets. Getting extra and featured credits from 5 major network shows and an Award Winning Indian Film Festival Production. She always remained forefront and eager even in the late night hours, because for the first time she was able to study and observe the actor-director relationship and how to take direction. She found a likeness film production and character development, through conversations with Director John Kent Harrison. Hopeful and driven Alexis took all that she had, learned, lived and loved and moved to Los Angeles to finally pursue her long studied career in acting, but first flying to London, England and studying the craft at the International School of Screen Acting.
