Sun Ribo is a former professional biathlete. She was born on 18 December 1976 in Liaoning, China. Her first year in biathlon was 1992. Mostly her best career result are as a member of the relay team. Sun placed 10th with the relay at the 1995 World Championships in Antholz-Anterselva. She participated only in one other event - the 15 km Individual where she finished 74th. In 1996, Sun suffered a broken knee, however she managed to take part in the races at the 1997 World Championships in Brezno-Osrblie. She placed 64th in the Individual, 56th in the sprint and 13th in the relay. While the World Cup took a pre-Olympic test of the race tracks in Nagano in 1997, Sun Ribo made her first podium, a 3rd place with the Chinese relay team. The Winter Olympic Games came in 1998 in Nagano where she finished 21st in the Individual, 39th in the sprint and 7th in the relay. Perhaps the most disappointing World Championship in her career was in 2000 in Holmenkollen. Sun Ribo started in only two events - the Individual, where she finished 50th and the sprint - 53rd. But during the 2001-2002 season her individual results made an improvement. She managed to finish twice 21st in the sprint and the following pursuit in Hochfilzen. And then later, in Salt Lake City, a 15th position in the Individual. At the 2002 Olympics in Salt, Lake City, Sun placed 15th in the Individual, 57th in the sprint and 7th in the relay. During the World Championships in Khanty-Mansyisk in 2003, she took part in all disciplines. Her results were 58th in the Individual, 12th in the sprint, 23rd in the pursuit, 30th in the mass start and 9th in the relay. The 2004-2005 season was the most successful in her entire career. Sun finished twice 17th in the sprint in Antholz-Anterselva and in the pursuit in Khanty-Mansyisk. Also 14th in the sprint in Khanty-Mansyisk. She finished 40th in the overall. The highlight in her career was during the 2005 World Championships in Hochfilzen, where Sun won a silver medal in the 15 km Individual. Sun placed 15th in the mass start and 9th in the relay. At the 2006 Olympics in Turin her performance was 21st in the sprint, 22nd in the pursuit and mass start and 9th with the relay team. After the games she announced her retirement.
