Sébastien Amiez was born on 6 May 1972 in Pralognan-la-Vanoise, France. He is a retired alpine skier. On 21 January 1996 in Veysonnaz Amiez won the slalom event. He is the National Champion in the slalom in the Championships in 1995, 1996, 1999 and 2001. But the highlight in his entire career, the one thing Amiez will always be remembered is that he won the silver Olympic medal in the slalom in 2002 in Salt Lake City. Four years before the Games, Amiez won again a silver medal in the slalom from the 1997 World Championships in Sestriere. His best overall finish is 11th in 1996. On 12 April 2007, Amiez announced his retirement from the sport. From January 2009 he has been a consultant for RMC.
