Jake McMichael is an actor, writer, and director born in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from Full Sail University with a BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment and three lead roles in short films, Jake moved to Atlanta, Georgia to gain more on-set experience, working on shows like Halt & Catch Fire and co-starring in the web series Ivacain. After Atlanta, while living back home in Maryland and working as an Uber driver, Jake made weekly trips to New York City to study with Susan Aston - on-set dialogue coach of the late, great James Gandolfini - of The Actors Studio. He now lives and works in the City full-time, continues to study with Ms. Aston, and has become a frequent collaborator at The American Theatre of Actors in Hell's Kitchen, which has seen such talents as Bruce Willis, Katheryn Hahn, and Dennis Quaid pass through its stages. On the directing side, Jake has overseen two shows at The American Theatre of Actors: the world-premiere of "My Motor Won't Work," by Richard D. Auman; and "Alcoholic Drama," by Tommy LeVrier. Jake's primary love is playing a diversity of characters, from nerds to cats to killers. His writing background gives him deep respect for the challenge of creating living, breathing people that pop off the page. He views each character, each work, and each challenge, as an opportunity to learn and grow. He sincerely believes that with persistence, hard work, and endless curiosity, all things are possible.
