Day Rooney grew up in Harpurhey. A small borough in the City of Manchester. UK. There Day Rooney attended Harpurmount Primary School before moving away from Manchester to a town called Eastbourne. He then attended Cavendish Secondary School in order to complete his education. After secondary school education Day Rooney worked in the building trade for many of years before finally moving back home to Manchester. On his arrival back to Manchester Day Rooney started out as a male model for Maverick Models before applying for acting lessons in the City. He was then invited to attend an audition at Act Up North in the City of Manchester in January 2015 with the option of a place in their acting academy, providing they saw potential in him. He secured a place in their academy and It was there where Day Rooney's acting journey begun. He then attended Act Up North until December 2016 before temporarily leaving the academy due to a handful of acting opportunities he had independently secured. Before leaving Act Up North Day Rooney attended several in house casting workshops presenting his abilities to numerous casting directors and also an agent - Katy Edwards. CEO of Broad International. It was in that casting workshop where Katy Edwards saw potential in Day Rooney and contact was made from both parties regarding representation. Since signing to Broad International Day Rooney has been very active within the industry. Securing work on a daily/weekly basis and gaining a vast knowledge of experience in all types of productions along the way. His onscreen debut came in the summer of 2016 when he featured in a comedy that was aired on BBCTHREE, where he portrayed the role of The Shaman in a production called - The Legend Of Epic Macro 89. Since featuring on that production Day Rooney has maintained his momentum in securing frequent roles in numerous projects, ranging from short films to landing lead roles in several feature films, With Helheim proving to be his breakthrough film to date.
