Carlton Dawson is an American Actor, most known for the role of "Charles" in the film entitled "Trial" by Alan Brooks. Dawson is originally from Columbus, Georgia, where he was heavily involved in the Dramatic Arts with the Historic Liberty Theater, performing as the lead role of "Tom" in "School House Rock", as well as supporting roles such as "Zeke" in one of the first Stage adaptations of "High School Musical" in the United States. In addition, Dawson landed leading roles in high school productions at his Alma Mater, Shaw High School. Dawson's debut in theater started at the age of 9 in a local musical production entitled "Shalavy", written and produced by reputable playwright Carlton Leake. Dawson notes this experience as the moment his love for acting was ignited. From this point, he immersed himself in any aspect of the Fine Arts that he could, ranging from school productions, talent shows, and community theater. Dawson's love for acting won him many awards in play competitions during his adolescent years, the most notable being awarded "Best Actor", in Columbus, Georgia's "One Act Play" competition. After High School, Dawson continued acting in college with the Rylander Theater, landing leading roles in musicals like "South Pacific" and "The Reluctant Dragon". Dawson transitioned into film in 2012, acquiring roles in many festival circuited independent films, such as "Secondhand", directed by Omar Abushaikha. In 2016, Dawson played the comedic spokesperson in a online parody commercial entitled "Miralax for Creatives"; an opportunity that garnered him a brand ambassador credit, as well as an intimate fan base. In 2017, Dawson can be seen in the new film entitled "The Portrait", starring opposite highly decorated actors Tray Chaney(The Wire), and Dee Dubois(Boo 2, A Madea Halloween).
