Samin Sababa is a Bangladeshi fashion-model but is known for acting as a lead-character in The God of Small Things (2017) -an American-Bengali film by Saud Jubaer. Growing up in the 90s Dhaka, Sababa was massively influenced by the music, movies and writings from the West. Her being is an amalgamation of what she loves about the world and her beloved homeland. She became a fashion model at a young age, when she just began studying English literature at Dhaka' BRAC University. Her first gig for television was for an NGO that helped underprivileged children. Sababa was still a teenager when she took on the role of a child prostitute, which no one else dared to do in a Muslim country before. She works as a journalist for a Bangladeshi newspaper in English language, but she often manages to find time for her art, modeling and acting and describes the experience as her travels between many worlds. Graduated from BRAC University, majoring in English literature. She also studied media and literature at the American University in Washington DC, USA on an exchange scholarship program from 2010-11. Began working as a model in 2009 and worked for her country's leading fashions brands, magazines, multinational products and services. Her father Quazi Akram Hossain, a freedom fighter in Bangladesh's Liberation War, was as a prominent student leader in the years that followed the birth of the nation in 1971. He left politics before the birth of his two daughters and was a businessman until his death in 2000. Sabara's mother -Saima Zahan is a former student-activist and a Professor of Bengali Literature at Dhaka University.
