Angelo Tate was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. His mother is a nurse, and his father is a retired factory worker. Angelo spent his child hood being imaginative and playing outside with his cousins over his grandmother's house. His creative writing ability began to be developed in school when his teachers assigned him creative writing assignments in middle school. Angelo got his start acting in the church when his parents were going through a divorce. A youth pastor at the time named Alvin Moore Jr, who was a Tennessee State University student of theatre and music, took him under his wing during that difficult time. Being under the guidance of Alvin Moore allowed Angelo to develop his love for acting and becoming a better man. After performing in the church and in grade school, Angelo went on to study theatre and business at Trevecca Nazarene University, where he got to be in and make student films for the first time. After graduation, Angelo got to be in his first paid theatre production under Alvin Moore Jr, called "The Missing Pieces," and thus entered Nashville's professional theatre scene. Angelo went on to train with Gray Studios under the guidance of Shanelle and David Gray, who is related to Ariel Winter. Under their guidance, he learned how to act in film and scale down his performances for the camera. He also received training from Two Broke Girls' Matt Moy, Kenton Duty, Rachid Fakhoury, and Anthony Ocasio from the Gray Studios team. Angelo has since then pursuing more film and television work
