Madelon Schoenmaker was born in Ermelo, Gelderland, the Netherlands 1981. Madelon always made people laugh at primary and high school but didn't know yet, that would become one of her strengths in her thirties. What she knew for sure was that she wanted to act. So she did auditions for several 'acting schools' in her twenties, because she thought that was the only way to learn the acting 'skills'. Unfortunately she didn't come through the auditions and her life took a complete different turn. 15 years later, after reading the book: 'Big Magic' she actually thought how stupid it was to take the feedback of the institutions so seriously and tried to approach her desire for 'acting' in a different way. She noticed that cabaret would suit her well so she went to the Koningstheateracademie in Den Bosch. From that point on she noticed that her humorous way of standing on stage was also applicable as an actress. As a result she played in various (dark) comedy short films. In December 2017 she was nominated for 'Best Actress' for the short De Binnenband (2017) at the 48 Hour Film Project Leeuwarden. In May 2018 she produced, wrote & acted the drama short Hard op Hart (2018) which won 'Best Story & Dialogue' at the 7 Dagen Kort Filmcompetitie 2018. In 2019 she decided her alter ego would be Camey Case and together with Stephan Brenninkmeijer she produced her own comedy. In September 2019 she won the award for 'Best Actress' for The knock on the door (2019) at the 48 Hour Film Project Utrecht which she produced together with Stephan Brenninkmeijer. In March 2020 she won again the award for 'Best Actress' for Fleur (2020) at the 48 Hour Film Project Amsterdam.
