Melvin Hernandez

Melvin Hernández was born in New York City, the lower east side. He moved to Miami Florida in 1986 where he dabbled a bit in the acting world as an extra in films like Miami Vice and invasion USA. In 2013 he moved back to NYC and decided to attend HB Studios where he studied technique and scene study with Michael Beckett. His busy lifestyle didn't permit him much time to run around to auditions, so he decided to let it go for a while, however he felt there was something special about the film business. In 2013 Melvin meets filmmaker Frank Gigante and decides to get involved again, but behind the camera this time, as an assistant director on a small project called "Mamma's Trilogy". Having enjoyed working with such a creative team and impressed with " Frank Gigante's artistic vision, Melvin jumps on board of another small production in 2015 called "Breaking the Silence" this time as a production assistant and a sound person learning all aspects of the trade. Keeping his passion ignited for the film business in 2018 Melvin is an associate producer for "Alone with the Darkness" and production assistant for "This Is Why TV". Directing has always been his lifelong passion hidden and buried inside since he was a kid. While life circumstances seem to always get in his way something inside keeps bringing him back. In that same year (2018) , He worked on film projects which included "Social Media Madness and "Father" where he was an Executive producer. In 2019 he was the director on a short film called ( Soul Exchange ). Recently, in 2021 he played the part of " Dr. M in a short film called "One Last Hug".
