Nori Muster is a journalist and researcher based in Arizona. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara (1978), and her Master of Science from Western Oregon University (1991). Her thesis is on whether to use art therapy with juvenile sex offenders. Her memoir, Betrayal of the Spirit: My Life behind the Headlines of the Hare Krishna Movement (University of Illinois Press, 1997), is a best selling book that garnered reviews in Publisher's Weekly, Yoga Journal, and other publications. Nori has written two follow-up books, Child of the Cult and Cult Survivor's Handbook. She has numerous journal articles on the subject, is a spokesperson to the media, and a regular presenter at the International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA) conferences. Nori also wrote her own version of the I Ching - Learning to Flow with the Dao - and her own positive thinking book - Dreaming Peace. Her current project is transcribing a forty-year dream journal for dream content analysis research.
