Multidisciplinary artist from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, based on Mexico for the last 8 years. Graduated Magna Cum Laude on Human Sciences Bachelor Degree from the University of Puerto Rico. Also studied for some time on the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. From an early age, won scholarships for the Broadway Dance Center and for the Eglevsky Ballet Summer Intensives in New York with professors from the Kirov Ballet, and was also part of the Internacional Ballet Competition Intensive, training with professors of American Ballet Theater Company, Alvin Ailey Company and Steps. With her first two albums, "Oruga" and "A Ras del Cielo" toured thought-out Mexico on concerts and cultural festivals, sharing stages and doing opening acts for Edgar Oceransky, Natalia Lafourcade, Miguel Inzunza and Francisco Céspedes among others. Most recent works as a singer, actress and dancer include "Cabaretissimo"; Televisa's Reality Dance TV Show "Bailando Por un Sueño", "Melena" & ensemble on "Wicked Mexico", "Eliza Doolittle" en "My Fair Lady" (SAS) y "Mona Lipshitz" on "Chicago", Puerto Rico. Worked as a dancer and costume designer on Contemporary Dance Companies Andanza de Puerto Rico and Hincapié. other works as a dancer and model include performances, tours and music videos for Ednita Nazario, Luis Fonsi, Anais, David Bisbal, Belinda y Marco Antonio Soliz; and has also worked in press, film, television and billboard commercials for brands as Telcel, Macy's, Coors Light, Peña Fiel, Modelo, Cadbury Adams, Palmolive, Wella and others. As a composer, graduated from the TCSACM of the Authors and Composers Society of Mexico, and among her recorded themes, composed the main song for the Miniseries "Psicosis", and also a song feature in Tv Fashion Designer Reality Show "Project Runway". As a singer-songwriter also features on the project "Girando"; and is the composer for two songs for projects of the University of Mexico's Tv Channel. For several years has recorded and being on tour as a back-up singer for Alejandra Guzmán, Christian Castro and Haddaway, among others. Charlene has also being invited to collaborate with other cultural collectives, among them ¨Las Poetas del Megáfono", and has show solidarity in various initiatives of benefit character for Woman rights, Internacional Nature Disasters Relieve Fund Raisins and Children's Autism. Her "Selfie Project " is her first exploration as a writer and film-maker, and gives us a very moving and honest reflection with which we can all relate to, and be empowered with.
