Professional swimmer, Martha McCabe was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Nancy and Joe McCabe. She started out doing synchronized swimming, but decided to switch to racing after a few years. As a teen, she attended Leaside High School, where she graduated with honors. In 2012, Martha graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games and was captain of the Olympic swim team for Canada in the 2016 Rio Olympics. After retiring from competitive swimming in 2017, she founded the mentorship organization, Head to Head.
