At the age of 19, Magalie takes the bull by the horns and moves to Toronto to study theatre at the George Brown Theatre School setting high goals of making a breakthrough in the English-speaking industry. She later trains at Armstrong Studios, Second City, The Creative Space and Pro Actors Lab. In 2015 she attends a 3-week Meisner bootcamp at The Acting Corps in Los Angeles and returns to the city of angels in 2018 to train at The Bernard Hiller Acting & Success Studio. Magalie has since been training with Michael David Simms at MDS Actors in Vancouver. As a youngster she trained in ballet, hip-hop, jazz and modern dance over a period of 10 years and has been training in gymnastics for almost two decades. Moreover, she was coached in classical and contemporary vocal arts by Quebec based renowned vocal coach Manon Lefrancois and is working on various dialects with Dorothy Ward, voice and dialect coach at the Startford Festival in Canada for 4 seasons. In 2017 she joined Faustwork Mask Theatre and toured their one-person show called The Mask Messenger. Furthermore, she's directed four plays and recently expertly produced one called "Les Murs ont des Yeux" about spousal abuse which made quite an impact. She also wrote her first theatre play in which she plays the lead, portraying a stripper, Sara, who wants to quit her toxic lifestyle and focus on her slam poetry. SARA held its world premiere at the Montreal Fringe in June 2018 which led to the play being toured in Toronto. Magalie has recently developed a new passion for writing and has multiples shorts and web series on the go. In 2019, Magalie writes, produces and stars in her short film "Falling". Currently in post-production, "Falling" anticipates to enter popular film festivals in 2020-2021. Magalie is also an acting coach and through her self-taping & acting coaching company ARTÉFAKT, she helps her fellow actors grow and reach their full potential.
