Gerald Small is the official American Sign Language interpreter for Theatre in Motion. He is a 32-year veteran as a New York City bus driver; during that time, he fell in love with American Sign Language. He studied at the Julliard School for Theatre Interpretation and went on to sign interpret on Broadway ("Tarzan" and "The Wedding Singer") and Off Broadway ("The Promise of Central Park," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Twelfth Night," and "The Helen Keller Story"). He has interpreted "Song of the Land" at The International Vigil for Peace and Ecology at the Bandshell in Central Park, as well as at the Dana Center at the park's rustic north end.
