Maju Cancella

Maju Cancella is a Brazilian writer and producer based in Los Angeles, California. Her screenwriting experience includes documentaries, short films, web-series, new media, and branded content. In 2009, she wrote and directed the feature documentary "Nilton Santos," a film about the Brazilian footballer of the same name. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, she moved to the US in 2014 to begin her third professional journey, after having worked as a video editor and a marketing executive for one of Brazil's leading soccer Teams, Botafogo FR. In 2018, her short film "White and Colors" was a finalist at the ShanghaiPride Film festival, and her short screenplay "Tommy and the Geometric Figures" won the Best Short Screenplay Award in the Chicago Genre Screenplay Competition.
