Andrea Bempensante is an Italian screenwriter and TV writer. Graduated in Sociology with the essay: Internet - on the road to a new concept of nation. Writes the short movies Assolo (1995), Doom (1996) and Cra-Cra (1997). The films won prizes at main international festivals like Venice Film Festival, Clermont Ferrand, Tehran, Valencia, Montreal. Writes his first feature movie: 20-Venti (aka 20-Twenty) in 1999. The story is an on the road movie about two women, a TV journalist and an actress. The whole plot is divided into twenty episodes, one for each and every cigarette the actress smokes from the same pack. The film premiered at The Berlin International Film Festival and won prizes at main international festivals like New York Williamsburg Film Festival and Annecy. The film won best feature film of 2000 by Duel Magazine. Since 2001 he is senior writer at Le Iene Show, one of the most innovative and successful satirical show of Italian television.
