Bersell's acting career was short-lived and barely recognized; due to being self-removed from the public eye within a few short years of his minimal place in the entertainment scene. His first role was landing a spot on ABC's forever-popular soap, All My Children (1970). From day one, the show, which debuted Jan. 5, 1970, was an instant hit! However, Bersell's role was a minor piece of the series. He played Bobby Martin, son of Dr. Joe Martin (Ray MacDonnell), who had lost his wife, Helene. When Joe remarried to his nurse, Ruth Brent (Mary Fickett), who was a widow, Bobby went off to camp, and never returned. Thus Mike was written out of the show. Upon his departure from "All My Children", he returned to the tube on yet another soap opera entitled Where the Heart Is (1969). His part was of Peter Jardin, child of Ellie Jardin (Zorah Lampert). When he left the show in 1972, Mike took up his last project and only feature film that same year, in Limbo (1972). He was cast as Joe Buell, son of Mary Kay Buell (Kathleen Nolan). After leaving acting, Bersell moved to Florida, when he now is a successful salesman for Lanier Auto Sales.
