Blanca Rosa Blanco was born on February 24, 1972 in Havana, Cuba. She graduated from the Faculty of Performing Arts at The University of Arts of Cuba / Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in 1995. While in college, she was cast in several theatre plays under the direction of professors and theatre directors such as Vicente Revuelta, José Antonio Rodríguez and Roberto Blanco. From "La historia de un antiguo encanto", "Los invitados del rey", "Ubu Rey", "El Perro del Otelano", to classic theatre as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth. These were just some of the plays that consolidated her training as an actress. Later with theatre group, Buscón, she joined the cast of "Cuentos de amor", "humor y muerte" and "La historia de un escaparate." She participated in theatre workshops given by Eugenio Barba, as well as the "Elsinor" festivals that took place at the The University of Arts of Cuba (ISA). During this period, she published theatre scripts, stories, and poems as a collaborator in the magazine Albur. Once graduated from the ISA, she joined the theater group "Irrumpe", directed by Roberto Blanco. After 5 years, the experience she acquired with this company meant an important starting point for her future work in other medium such as television and film. After her extensive career in theatre, she began working in television in soap operas, crime drama television series, adventures, festival presentations and musical events. She also worked in comedic miniseries and other genres. Her most popular role was his character of Chief Monica in crime drama series "Tras la Huella." Eventually, she hosted TV show "Ecos de Mujer", Lucas award ceremonies and the Cubadisco Festival. Later, she starred in several Cuban films such as "Páginas del Diario de Mauricio", a film directed by Manuel Pérez Paredes, the adaptation film "El Premio Flaco" made by Cuban filmmaker Juan Carlos Cremata, in "Habanastation" by Ian Padrón, "Lisanka" by Daniel Diaz Torres, and "Juan de los Muertos", directed by Alejandro Brugués, among others. In 2017, Blanca Rosa started working on her first film, "El Regreso", which she directed it, wrote it, and starred on it. It makes the first woman in Cuba to do these three roles in a feature length film. He has taught acting courses at ISA, and worked as a model for photographer Roberto Salas.
