Pro surfer Jeff Booth was born in 1969 in Los Angeles, California. Booth moved with his family to Laguna Beach, California in 1970 and started surfing at age eight. Jeff first made a name for himself in the surfing community in the 1980's: He was a runner-up in the juniors division of the 1984 World Amateur Surfing Championships, runner-up again in the men's division in that same event in 1986, and was named the World Tour rookie of the year in 1988. Booth went on to become a professional surfer on the World Tour for nine seasons. Despite ranking at a respectable number nine in the ratings for the 1996 World Tour, Jeff nonetheless decided to retire from the pro surfing circuit at the age of 28. A graduate of San Diego State University, Booth has worked as the men's national sales manager for Billabong swimwear and the core national sales manager for the Sanuk surf footwear company.as well as coaches the Thurston Middle School surf team in Laguna Beach, California that his daughter Tess is a member of. Moreover, Jeff also still continues to surf and even won both the Senior Masters and Pro/Am divisions of the 2015 Brooks Street Classic surfing competition.
