After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Art Bucaro used his GI Bill to fund his professional training at California's prestigious Pasadena Playhouse. Over the next two decades he acted in numerous Los Angeles area plays and appeared in a variety of film and television roles, most notably in Disney's production of Mary Poppins (1964). In the mid-1960's, he changed careers to pursue another of his life-long passions, aviation. Never giving up his love of the stage, Art became an important contributor to the establishment and growth of several theatre companies in Los Angeles' Antelope Valley where he served as actor, director, collaborator and, most importantly, valued friend. After his passing, Palmdale Repertory Theatre established a scholarship in his name to help train the next generation of actors in the craft that he pursued and loved for a lifetime.
