William Paul Burns actor, screenwriter, director, producer, opera singer. After Northwestern University and Miami University he became a member of the Actors Studio in NYC, under the direction of Lee Strasberg. The Metropolitan Opera Training program started William professional carrier with the Metropolitan Opera Sextet, appearing in "Carmen" "Le Nozze di Figaro" "Boris Godunov" "La Boheme" "Mcbeth" etc. His singing carrier moved to Broadway, Winter Garden Theatre, in Mel Brooks / Joshua Logan / Charles Strouse / Lee Adams musical "All American". William was invited by Princeton University to be a Guest Artiest, teaching in the Humanities program. His work on Broadway includes "The Three Sisters," "After the Rain," "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest," "Man of La Mancha." "The Royal Hunt of the Sun," "Camino Real" - Tennessee Williams filmed this production, which is now in the National Archives at Lincoln Center, as the definitive work of his play and William as Kilroy. Universal Studios signed William to a seven year contract, including a mutable picture deal. Staring in many Television shows he was groomed for his own TV series created by David Victor. Other film works followed, include Lipstick, Passover Plot, Blood Dolls, Play Murder For Me, Voyeur II, Camino Real, Marianne, Hollywierd, Three Sisters etc. Recently William co-producer "The Master and Margarita," feature film, novel by Mikhail Bulgakov, with John Cusack. Extreme athlete, William hopes, one day, to make an ascent on Mt Everest. His mentor, friend/advisor, the brilliant scholar, the late Joseph Campbell, would always say, "Follow Your Bliss," "Confront Limits." William ads, Survival/Self reliance are the keys. It's not the summit, but how you get there that makes all the difference. Trained as a Gestalt Therapist with Dick Price, primary student of Firtz Perls MD, who's theory's were developed after his work with Willhelm Reich and Sigumund Freud, published in his book titled "Gestalt Therapy" in 1950. Trained as a Trager Practitioner by Dr. Milton Trager and Dr. Betty Fuller. William-Paul also has in depth study with friends and scholars; Stanislav Grof, M.D. Ph.D., Roshi Joan Halifax, Ph.D., Richard Tarnas, Ph.D., Betty Fuller, Ph.D. In addition, his teachers included: Robert Bly, Al Huang, Jean Erdman, Gregory Bateson, Krishnamurti, Sam Keen, Michael Murphy, Barbara Myeroff, Dick Price, Julian Silverman, Ilana Rubenfeld, Bob Schwartz, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Ida Rolf, Vicki Topp etc. Focus of study: Psychology Mythology/Religion and Philosophy.
