A co-owner and Head of Development for six28 Entertainment Inc., Tracy Burns has spent her entire career in the entertainment industry, enjoying success in film, television, video and new media production. Her talents include writing, developing, and producing. While completing the Masters Program in Film & Video at Columbia College in Chicago, Ms. Burns demonstrated her talent early by shooting a film short that was selected for airing by the local Chicago PBS station for their series, "Image Union." Ms. Burns went on to work in all phases of film and television production, from pre- to post, including location scout, assistant editor, researcher, rights & clearances, post-production supervisor, associate producer, and producer. As a Producer, she has spent the past four years raising financing and pulling together film projects for the Chicago-based independent film company, Strata Productions. Ms. Burns was responsible for bringing in nearly half of the financing for the $4.7 million, 2005 production "Heavens Fall," based on the landmark 1933 civil rights trial of the Scottsboro boys. This film is a winner of multiple film festival awards including Best Feature at the 2006 Hollywood Film Festival. In 2006 Ms. Burns helped raise funds for the $7.2 million, 2007 Strata production "No God, No Master," and co-produced the independent dark comedy "Stash" for Bonavision, featuring former SNL comedian Tim Kazurinsky. Ms. Burns' television background includes production for the A&E Television Network's BIOGRAPHY series for shows on well-known historical figures such as retail giant Marshall Field, millionaire Barbara Hutton, and renowned physical fitness icon Charles Atlas. Her work for The History Channel took her to Ireland for a show exploring the history of St. Patrick's Day. Ms. Burns has also worked on a live, two-hour national morning show for the Fox, Inc. cable network, fX. Her work on The Roosevelt Experiment for KRT Productions led to a Chicago Emmy award for Best Documentary. A talented writer and alumna of Writers Boot Camp, she recently optioned the rights to "Dorothea Lange: A Photographer's Life" and is writing the screenplay adaptation based on the personal and political struggles of the famous photographer. Ms. Burns is primarily responsible for finding and developing projects for six28 to the point of production.
