Biography

Ted Haimes began his career as a New York-based documentary cinematographer and producer. Projects include the Peabody Award-winning Vietnam Requiem - the stories of seven Vietnam Vets serving time in US prisons, and the Emmy awarded American Inquisition, which explores the shattered lives of men and women branded as Communist during the blacklist, despite having no political affiliations. Ted's first directed films, profiles of artists, including Brice Marden, Aaron Siskind, and Duane Michals, as well as The Alvin Ailey School and The Big Apple Circus, have been broadcast worldwide and presented at international museums and film festivals, including New York, Venice, DC, and London. Decade earned MTV its first Peabody Award, defining the attitude and style of MTV News. He broke new ground collaborating with artist Marilyn Minter, shooting and directing 100 Food Porn, the first TV commercial to advertise an artist's exhibition.
