Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Ford initially pursued carpentry before transitioning to acting. He began his film career with minor roles, gaining attention with American Graffiti (1973) and The Conversation (1974). Ford's breakthrough came with his portrayal of Han Solo in Star Wars (1977), a role he reprised in its sequels, solidifying his status as a major star. He further established his fame with the Indiana Jones series, beginning with Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and continuing through its sequels.
