Biography

Tim Roth is an acclaimed English actor trained at Camberwell College of Arts. He made his screen debut with The Hit (1984), earning a BAFTA nomination as Most Promising Newcomer, and soon became part of the influential “Brit Pack.” A frequent collaborator of Quentin Tarantino, Roth became a defining presence of 1990s independent film and gained worldwide attention with standout roles in Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994). His performance in Rob Roy (1995) won him the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor and earned him Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. In 1999, Roth made his directorial debut with The War Zone, a powerful drama that received critical acclaim and showcased his artistic range. He later presided over the Un Certain Regard jury at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, cementing his influence in contemporary cinema.
