Eduard Artemyev is a Soviet and Russian composer. He is widely known as the author of music for films by Andrei Tarkovsky, Andrey Konchalovskiy and Nikita Mikhalkov. Artemyev was born in Novosibirsk. He received his primary musical education at the Moscow Choir School. Later in 1960 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. Artemyev became widely known for his work in the cinema. He has composed music for over 150 feature films, documentaries and animated films.
